Our branches, offices and customer meetings

To help protect our staff, suppliers and customers, we are encouraging regular hand washing, and the use of hand sanitiser, where available. In addition, we are taking steps to ensure the welfare of our employees by instructing those employees who feel ill to stay at home and consult their healthcare providers. Normal business operations will continue across the UK unless advised otherwise. However, where feasible, we will use virtual technology instead of face to face meetings. These measures are defined by the guidance given by official UK governmental and public health advisory organisations including the NHS, Department for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy, Public Health England and the Health & Safety Executive.

BoxVn to the Rescue!

While there is nothing positive about the devastating impact this new Coronavirus will have on loved ones and the wider economy as a whole, at BoxVn we have been relieved to learn there is a role for us to play in bringing comfort to those people who have gone into self-isolation, are most vulnerable or are practicing social distancing to limit the spread of the virus. Last week, online shopping figures in the UK soared as retailers faced chaos, quickly selling out of toilet paper, cleaning products and non-perishable goods. Shoppers now ‘queue’ for home deliveries as supermarket panic-buying moves online and it’s reported that deliveries of essential goods could take six weeks in some areas. Likewise, Amazon’s typically reliable logistics network has seen an unprecedented surge in demand as consumers avoid high streets and stock up online with cleaning products, health and household items, groceries, home gym equipment and new IT hardware. Now facing significant delivery delays, the company has revealed plans to hire an additional 100,000 employees in the US alone.

Enter BoxVn…

Getting priority items to doorsteps quickly will be vital as communities practice social-distancing, particularly for the elderly and others with underlying health concerns. BoxVn are already seeing rapid growth in demand for van hire and are working around the clock to fulfil requests as quickly as possible. The upward curve in online shopping and demand for delivery vans is unlikely to disappear in the near future as talk of preventative measures take us into 2021. This is an opportunity for BoxVn to muck in and supply those most in need while providing vehicles and an income to people who have lost their jobs or regular work as the virus closes restaurants and shops and shuts down travel and entertainment industries. We sincerely hope that the pandemic will be resolved before too long and we will keep you informed as soon as we have any significant updates.
